TV, Facebook, Emails...Oh My!

OKAY!  So my next REST challenge will be to take one whole day and not look at my computer, facebook, twitter or email - pretty much any electronics!  (I am going to TRY! I may limit it to half a day at first and work up).  I know that when I took a one week "sabbath" getaway, before my second baby was born, I felt more refreshed than I EVER had before because I spent time reading, walking, singing, and drinking tea; not in front of any electronics!!  It is much easier when you're staying at a beautiful, remote resort in the mountains, but I know I can do it here in my home with three toddlers too!  Monday is going to be my day (I wrote this over the weekend, just in case you thought I was cheating to post this)!
Some of you can't cut out the emails for work or something - try one day on the weekend, or pick just one or two things: no TV and Facebook for one day!  I think we will all be surprised at how much more productive that resting is than just laying on the couch...texting.  ;)  Let me know what you think about this idea and if you decide to jump on board!!!
"So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. 11 So let us do our best to enter that rest..." - Hebrews 4: 9-11 (NLT)

  1. Report: Monday was amazing! I started out early, quiet time (actually reading my bible, not the iPhone App), journaled, worked out, accomplished everything on my list before noon. Then I was able to take a little power nap (one and a half actually), had a few hours to myself to shop and then The Melting Pot with my hubby! It was a great No-Electronics day for me! I know I'll enjoy it these next two weeks too! =)
